Sponsorship and Institutional Partnerships
Effective 15 September 2026. CMP has no active institutional partner. A hospital, clinical network or laboratory named in a manuscript does not therefore confer an institutional APC concession. The framework below permits future cooperation after public designation, while geographic and hardship assistance remains available under the separate fee policy. Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology may consider transparent arrangements that support dissemination, publication access or a defined scholarly collection. A relationship with a hospital, university, society or company must be based on an authorised agreement. Employment of an author or editor at an institution does not, by itself, make that institution a CMP partner or sponsor.
Documented purpose and authority
Before public use of a partner’s name, the publisher confirms who is authorised to enter the arrangement and what support will be provided. The record distinguishes a publication fee agreement, a research grant, a conference collaboration and direct support for the journal. The public description identifies the organisation and the nature of a material journal sponsorship, with a link to the organisation when available.
Financial benefits for authors
For a future publicly designated partner, the institutional benefit will be a 50 percent reduction of the USD 450 APC, leaving USD 225 payable for a qualifying author. CMP has no currently available institutional benefit; geographic and hardship assistance remains available under Fee Waivers and Institutional Discounts. An arrangement states which authors and article types it covers, any administrative limit, its validity period and verification process. An author may not invent an affiliation to obtain support. The reduction cannot be stacked with regional or hardship assistance beyond the 50 percent ceiling. Eligibility is confirmed administratively and does not guarantee acceptance.
Medical and commercial conflicts
Support connected to a medicine, device, diagnostic service or clinical programme requires particular scrutiny. The sponsor must not select favourable findings, prevent publication of harms, control reviewers or condition support on a decision. Authors separately disclose their research funding and relationships. A sponsor’s logo or acknowledgement must not make an article appear to be an endorsed clinical guideline.
Collections and editorial appointments
A sponsored special issue must be assessed on its scientific purpose and follow Special Issues and Guest Editing. Guest appointments depend on expertise and impartiality, not on the amount of support provided. The Co-Editors-in-Chief retain responsibility for standards. A partner cannot appoint an editor who then handles the partner’s own conflicted submissions without independent safeguards.
Review change and termination
The publisher reviews active arrangements for accuracy, editorial independence and continuing authority. An expired agreement is not used to market new benefits; affected authors receive clear information about any existing entitlement. The journal can decline or end support that compromises its responsibilities while maintaining the integrity and accessibility of articles already published. Questions about a claimed partnership should identify the organisation and the communication making the claim. Questions or supporting documents should be sent through the CMP editorial office at cmpeditorialoffice@jandoopress.com, identifying the manuscript number or article DOI where available.
Current support status
CMP has no current institutional partner and no external financial or in-kind sponsor. Future grants, donations or sponsorship require an accurate public description of the source and purpose. Until an institution is publicly designated under the fee policy, institutional affiliation alone creates no discount entitlement.
