Journal Statement

Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology publishes scholarly work to support critical examination of clinical and pharmacological evidence. The conclusions expressed in an article belong to its authors. Publication does not, by itself, constitute endorsement by Jandoo Press, the editors, the authors’ institutions or an associated organisation of a treatment, product, policy or service.

Responsibility of authors and readers

Authors remain accountable for the accuracy of their reports, the integrity of the evidence and the declarations accompanying their work. They should distinguish established knowledge from exploratory findings and avoid presenting uncertain results as individual treatment advice. Readers should consider the design, patient population, limitations and current status of the evidence when interpreting an article, including any linked correction or retraction.

Editorial work and author approval

Editors may require revision to improve scientific clarity, reporting and conformity with the journal’s requirements. Copyediting and production should preserve the meaning of the accepted work. A substantive change to a clinical claim, result or conclusion requires author review and, where necessary, renewed editorial assessment. The journal does not treat general permission to copyedit as authority to introduce unapproved scientific claims.

Rights and attribution

The article’s copyright and licence statement determines the permitted reuse of the published work. Properly licensed reuse must not imply that an author, institution or the journal endorses a derivative product. Copyright Licensing and Third Party Material explains the conditions for material included in an article. The journal’s name and logo should not be used to misrepresent a private reproduction as an official publication or a commercial item as clinically approved.

Continuing journal obligations

Attributing conclusions to authors does not relieve CMP or its publisher of responsibility for independent assessment, ethical oversight and maintenance of the record. Credible concerns are considered even when they arise after publication. An author’s disclaimer cannot excuse fabricated evidence, a privacy violation or misleading reporting; a publisher’s disclaimer cannot replace an appropriate corrective notice.

Questions about meaning or status

Readers may seek clarification, submit a reasoned response or report an error through the editorial office. They should identify the article, passage and evidence relevant to the enquiry. CMP considers whether the issue is scholarly disagreement, a correctable mistake or an integrity concern and uses the appropriate process. No statement in this notice limits the publication rights already granted under the article’s stated licence. Questions or supporting documents should be sent through the CMP editorial office at cmpeditorialoffice@jandoopress.com, identifying the manuscript number or article DOI where available.
