Revenue Sources and Business Model
Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology operates as an open access journal published by Jandoo Press. Readers receive access without subscription income from the article itself. The journal’s disclosed author charge supports the publication service, while the publisher is responsible for providing the resources needed to manage and sustain the journal. The source of income must not determine which clinical findings are published.
Current income and support
Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology is supported by APC revenue and the resources of Jandoo Press. Official print copies or subscriptions may be supplied on request under a separate quotation. The journal currently has no external financial or in-kind sponsor and receives no paid-advertising income. It may accept grants, donations or sponsorship in future, provided the source and purpose are disclosed and the contributor receives no authority over scholarly decisions. An author's research grant is disclosed in the article and is distinct from financial support for the journal.
Publication income
The standard APC and its application are explained in Article Processing Charges and Refunds. It is requested only after formal acceptance. An APC may be paid by an author, institution or funder, or reduced under Fee Waivers and Institutional Discounts. Administrative staff record the charge and any reduction so that an author is not asked to pay an unexplained balance. APC income supports journal operations; payment does not purchase a reviewer’s recommendation or alter the independent assessment required for publication. Preservation arrangements and the extent actually deposited are reported separately under Digital Preservation and Journal Continuity.
Current institutional position
As of 15 September 2026, CMP has no institutional academic partner. The active assistance routes are the geographic and hardship 50 percent reductions. A hospital affiliation, trial sponsor or industry-funded research project does not establish an institutional publication discount; any future partner benefit must first be announced under policy 21.
Other support and commercial activities
Any material subsidy, sponsorship, paid supplement, reprint arrangement or other source of journal income must be identified accurately on the relevant public page. Research funding declared within an article is distinct from funding of the journal. A hospital whose employee serves as an editor is not thereby a journal sponsor. Commercial arrangements involving a particular collection should disclose the supporting organisation and what it supplied.
Independence of the clinical record
A payer or sponsor may not choose favourable reviewers, control the reporting of adverse events, veto negative results or require publication. Editorial budgets and publication targets must not become instructions to accept insufficiently reviewed manuscripts. Clinicians’ financial relationships with manufacturers are considered under Competing Interests and Research Funding regardless of who pays the APC.
Changes and public accountability
New revenue arrangements are assessed for conflicts before they are introduced and are publicly described when applicable. Revised fees require advance notice and a clear transition rule; a change in the business model does not justify removing free access from already openly licensed articles. The publisher maintains records sufficient to resolve fee disputes and verify institutional benefits without disclosing private payer details to reviewers.
Financial questions
Questions about funding sources, a claimed commercial relationship or an unexpected payment request may be directed to the office. An author can ask for the applicable public schedule and written explanation before payment. A concern that money influenced an editorial decision is treated as a journal conduct complaint and is reviewed independently of the affected decision maker. Questions or supporting documents should be sent through the CMP editorial office at cmpfinance@jandoopress.com, identifying the manuscript number or article DOI where available.
