Open Access
Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology makes its published articles freely available online from publication, without a subscription, reader payment or mandatory registration to read the full text. Open access allows clinicians, patients, researchers and services with limited library resources to consult the same published record. The journal does not impose an embargo on access to its published articles.
Rights to use articles
CMP scholarly articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence, CC BY 4.0. Separate rights in specifically identified third-party components are explained below. The licence permits sharing and adaptation, including commercial reuse, when its attribution and other conditions are met. Users identify the authors and source, link to the licence and indicate changes. The exact licence is available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/. Reuse must not imply that the authors or journal endorse a derived product. Readers may also print, search, link to and analyse the full text with software, including text and data mining, within the licence and other applicable rights.
Information accompanying the full text
The article landing page and full text identify the copyright holder, publication date, citation and licence. The copyright of an article is distinct from rights in the journal website and branding. Third party photographs, instruments or other materials can carry separate conditions when this is explicitly stated in their credit lines. Users should consult those statements before treating every component as reusable under the article licence.
Access and clinical interpretation
Free access does not remove the need to evaluate a study’s population, methods, uncertainties and current clinical relevance. An article can be read and discussed without obtaining a paid reprint or a favourable citation arrangement. Corrections and retraction notices remain accessible so that clinicians can see changes in the status of the evidence. The journal’s educational and research content does not replace the assessment required for an individual patient.
Funding the service
Any author charge is a publication service charge and is separate from the reader’s right to access the article. Author payments are requested only after a formal editorial acceptance decision. Article Processing Charges and Refunds and Fee Waivers and Institutional Discounts explain the financial arrangements. An author’s financial circumstances must not determine scientific acceptance.
Access problems
Readers who encounter an unavailable file, unexpected login request or inaccessible licence should report the article URL and a short description to the editorial office. The publisher investigates access problems and restores the appropriate public record. Preprints and Repository Deposit and Digital Preservation and Journal Continuity describe additional access arrangements without changing the rights granted by the article licence. Questions or supporting documents should be sent through the CMP editorial office at cmpeditorialoffice@jandoopress.com, identifying the manuscript number or article DOI where available.
Licence across the journal record
The CC BY 4.0 article licence and retention of copyright by authors apply across the CMP scholarly archive. The publisher corrects inconsistent historical boilerplate through a transparent record update, preserving original article dates and identifying material rights corrections. A notice cannot erase separate rights in a third-party component; exclusions must be displayed beside the affected material.
