Article Processing Charges and Refunds

From 15 September 2026, the standard APC for an accepted article in Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology is USD 450, including applicable tax. Authors pay for the publication service after a formal scholarly acceptance decision. Payment cannot purchase favourable clinical assessment, a guaranteed release date or inclusion in an index.

Publication charge and optional print orders

Submission, initial screening and peer review carry no fee. The APC is the complete compulsory publication price retained by the publisher: no additional page, colour, editorial, review or withdrawal charge is added. Reading the online article is free. Assistance enquiries, appeals and reports requiring correction are also free. A printed issue or reprint is supplied only under a separate optional quotation; buying copies is not a condition of clinical publication.

Applying the effective schedule

Invoices issued on or after 15 September 2026 use the USD 450 schedule, including invoices for manuscripts already under consideration. The Finance Office cancels an unpaid earlier invoice and issues a replacement showing the published base price, approved reduction and amount due. It explains any change before collection. A higher price than previously disclosed, or removal of a full waiver previously promised, requires the author’s agreement; silence does not supply it.

An author declining changed terms can withdraw before publication without a fee. A completed payment is not retrospectively surcharged or silently recalculated. The manuscript record retains the applicable offer, any reduction and the author’s agreement to a changed commitment. Conflicting website, letter or invoice amounts must be resolved before payment is requested. Future price changes receive dated public notice and the same advance disclosure and agreement protections.

Assistance independent of clinical review

CMP has no active institutional partner. Employment at a hospital or medical school, or funding from a trial sponsor, does not create a partner discount. An eligible geographic application or approved hardship request reduces the APC by 50 percent, leaving USD 225 payable. A future publicly designated institutional arrangement can provide the same benefit for its defined author relationships. Multiple eligibility grounds do not raise the reduction above 50 percent.

The Finance Officer considers eligibility records separately from clinical assessment. Editors and reviewers do not receive hardship documents or payment negotiations. Authors experiencing difficulty should apply under Fee Waivers and Institutional Discounts before paying. An ethical concern can still pause an accepted article; settlement of an invoice does not resolve missing consent or unreliable clinical evidence.

Payment instructions and transaction evidence

For authors in mainland China, the payment route is domestic bank transfer; for authors elsewhere, it is PayPal. Use the journal’s official instructions issued after acceptance. The payer bears charges imposed by the bank or payment service for transfer and currency conversion; these are separate from the journal’s tax-inclusive APC. Finance identifies the actual payee and supplies an invoice or receipt appropriate to the transaction and the author’s requirements.

An unsolicited message containing unfamiliar bank details or a third-party payment link is not evidence of authorisation. Send an invoice query to cmpfinance@jandoopress.com, identifying the manuscript and relevant written offer. Staff verify the instructions without referring the author’s payment position to scientific reviewers.

Withdrawal refunds and the clinical record

Withdrawal before publication has no penalty. If the APC was paid but the article has not entered the public record, withdrawal or inability to proceed with publication results in return of the APC. Duplicate payments and excess amounts are also returned. The office cannot introduce an undisclosed production deduction after payment. A refund request identifies the manuscript, transaction and remedy sought and goes to cmpfinance@jandoopress.com.

After publication, a substantiated author-misconduct retraction or an author-attributable serious failure of the originality or AI requirements does not qualify for an APC refund. An adverse detector result first receives human assessment and the integrity procedure. Mandatory legal rights and correction of billing errors remain available. Whether to correct or retract clinical evidence is decided independently of the refund question, and a necessary notice incurs no additional charge.
