Publication Schedule and Article Identification

JGTSS publishes six issues each year and releases completed articles online as they become ready. Since September 2025 the journal has followed a bimonthly schedule, with complete issues normally closed at the end of January, March, May, July, September and November. An annual volume contains the year’s issues; an individual issue is not a separate annual volume.

When publication occurs

An article is published when its authorized version of record becomes publicly available with its bibliographic record. Formal acceptance alone is not publication. Before release, the editorial office completes production checks, obtains the author’s proof response or records an agreed alternative, and verifies author names, affiliations, declarations, references, copyright and the licence notice. Articles awaiting these steps must not be described as published.

An issue that is still collecting articles is labelled in progress. Its anticipated closing date is identified as a planned issue date, not the publication date of articles already available or articles not yet released. Each article displays its actual first online publication date; later assignment to a completed issue must not replace that date or suggest that review occurred after publication.

Identifiers and publication history

The electronic ISSN is 2759-7830 and the print ISSN is 2760-2508. These identifiers distinguish the journal’s publication media and do not indicate inclusion in a citation database. Each research article receives a persistent article identifier and a stable landing page. Its DOI, title, authors, volume, issue and page range or article number should agree across the PDF, website and deposited metadata.

Submission, revision where recorded, acceptance and publication dates describe actual editorial events. A platform import or migration date is retained internally as an administrative event and must not be substituted for the date the journal first received the manuscript. The production team investigates conflicting dates against editorial records and makes a transparent correction where readers or indexing services could be misled.

Delays and changes

If an issue is delayed, the journal publishes a dated notice explaining the affected issue, the reason at an appropriate level and the revised plan when known. A delayed issue is not concealed by backdating files. A sustained change in publication frequency is announced prospectively and reflected in the website, publisher records and relevant registration or indexing services.

The Annual Compendium is a compilation of already published material unless expressly described otherwise. Compilation does not create a second original publication or justify a new research-article DOI for unchanged content. Readers may report missing articles, broken identifiers or inconsistent dates to jgtsseditorialoffice@jandoopress.com, supplying the affected URL and the information that needs checking.
