Repository Policy
Jandoo Press supports open access and enables authors to disseminate their work widely via institutional, subject, and general-purpose repositories. This policy applies to all versions of a manuscript as defined below.
Version definitions and deposit rules
Submitted version (preprint)
Definition: The version originally submitted for peer review.
Policy: May be deposited at any time (no embargo) in repositories or preprint servers. The record must state that the manuscript has been submitted to a Jandoo Press journal. After publication, authors must add the full citation and DOI of the version of record (VoR) and link to the publisher page.
Accepted version (author accepted manuscript, AAM)
Definition: The peer-reviewed, accepted manuscript, prior to Jandoo Press copyediting, typesetting, and layout.
Policy: May be deposited upon publication (no embargo). Where funder or institutional mandates require earlier deposit, authors may deposit at acceptance with a note “Accepted for publication in [Journal], forthcoming,” and must update the record with the final citation and DOI on publication.
Published version (version of record, VoR)
Definition: The final, copyedited, typeset article as published by Jandoo Press.
Policy: May be deposited immediately on publication. The deposited file must include proper citation to the journal and a link to the Crossref DOI. Authors should preserve the publisher’s PDF without alteration other than adding metadata fields.
DOI, attribution, and licence
- Each article receives a Crossref DOI; authors must include the DOI and a canonical link to the publisher page in all repository records.
- Default licence: CC BY 4.0. If an article is published under an alternative licence (e.g., CC BY-NC, CC BY-NC-ND), that licence governs repository use; the repository record must display the exact licence and link to the licence text.
- Third-party materials included in the article may carry different rights and may not be further reused beyond their stated terms.
Required repository metadata (recommended minimum)
- Full citation (authors, year, title, journal, volume, issue, pages).
- DOI and publisher URL.
- Version label (Submitted version / AAM / VoR) and date of deposit.
- Licence statement and link.
- ORCID iDs (where available), funder/grant identifiers, and links to data/code repositories.
Corrections, updates, and compliance
- If an article is corrected, retracted, or updated, authors should update the repository record to reflect the change and link to the publisher notice.
- This policy is designed to comply with common funder and institutional OA mandates. Authors remain responsible for meeting any specific deposit requirements (timing, metadata, or repository choice) set by their funders or institutions.
