Business Model

Open access and APC definition

  • All Jandoo Press journals are fully open access: readers do not pay to access articles.
  • APC (article processing charge) is a publication fee, where applicable, that covers the costs of peer-review management, editorial services, production, hosting, DOI registration/metadata, indexing deposits, and long-term preservation.
  • APCs, if used, are invoiced only after acceptance and do not influence editorial decisions.

APC pricing

  • APC amounts are set by each journal. For the exact price and any journal-specific terms, see the Business model statement on the relevant journal page.

What publication costs cover

  • Peer review and editorial management
  • Copyediting and typesetting
  • Online hosting and platform maintenance
  • DOI registration and metadata management
  • Indexing/repository deposits and digital preservation (e.g., CLOCKSS/LOCKSS)

Other fees

  • Unless a journal states otherwise, there are no submission fees, page charges, colour charges, or editorial handling fees.

Waivers and discounts

  • Journals may provide waivers or discounts (e.g., for authors from low-income economies, for institutional agreements, or documented hardship).
  • Requests should be made during submission; outcomes are communicated transparently and do not affect editorial decisions.

Withdrawals

  • Manuscripts may be withdrawn at any time without charges.

Transparency and contact

Each journal page lists its APC (if any), waiver options, and contacts.
