  • A new monograph on arsenic removal in non-ferrous metallurgy

Jandoo Press has officially published and released the academic monograph Arsenic Removal from Arsenic-Bearing Non-Ferrous Metal and Application of Two-Stage Filtration with Fe-Al Porous Material.

Effective arsenic removal is a key segment of non-ferrous metal smelting. In this book, the technology and mechanism of arsenic removal from non-ferrous metals were systematically introduced, a new technology of two-stage filtration based on Fe-Al porous materials jointed with controlled oxygen roasting was raised, and the adaptability of this technology was investigated in arsenic removal of major arsenic-containing non-ferrous metals, including copper, nickel, gold ores, and arsenic-containing flue gas. The process parameters were optimized, significantly improving the efficiency and economy of arsenic removal. The research data provide an important theoretical guidance for the industrial application of non-ferrous metal ore smelting technology.

The authors are Xiaowei Tang (Changsha University of Science and Technology) and Yuehui He (Central South University). Dr. Tang’s research focuses on Fe–Al porous materials, gradient pore-structure filtration media, and arsenic removal technologies for non-ferrous metallurgy. Professor He is a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor at Central South University and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. His research spans porous materials and filtration membrane materials, and he has led multiple major national research projects.

  • 5th International Forum on Surrounding Communication of Geographical Indications in China to Be Held in November 2025

The 5th International Forum on Surrounding Communication of Geographical Indications in China will take place from November 7 to 9, 2025, at the Academic Exchange Center, Jiangbei Campus, Zhejiang Guangsha Vocational and Technical University of Construction (ZGUC), in Dongyang City, Zhejiang Province. The forum is jointly organized by the Service Office of the Geographical Indication Industry (SOGII) at the China Centre for Promotion of SME Development, the Research Center of Surrounding Communication (RCSC) at Peking University, the Institute of Surrounding Communication (ISC) at Huaqiao University, and the China Institute of Surrounding Communication of Geographical Indications (CISCGI).

With the theme “Strengthening the construction of Geographical Indications in China and promoting the upgrading of the Chinese economy”, this year’s forum will address a wide range of topics, including the current development of the GI industry, patterns of surrounding communication, database construction, legal frameworks, and the integration of GIs with cultural tourism and ecological value.

The forum is now open for submissions. Scholars are invited to submit academic papers or speech outlines (3,000–5,000 words) relevant to the conference topics. Outstanding contributors will be invited to attend the forum, with round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses covered by the organizing committee.

The conference will be held in a hybrid format (both online and offline). Interested participants must submit a Confirmation Form by September 30, 2025, and all submissions are due by October 31, 2025.

The Journal of Global Trends in Social Science (JGTSS) is pleased to participate as a strategic partner of this international forum, supporting cross-disciplinary dialogue and global visibility for research in the field of geographical indications and surrounding communication.
